KL Trip

notice that there are actually 2 toasts with creamy butter and condensed milk! hahas. it was just too good that we decided to eat it again the next day. more comments on the food later! okie, before i start on this entry proper, just wanna thank bisheng for all the recommendations he gave me for the trip! the food he recommended was like just totally fantastic. okie here goes!
Day 1

in the bus and all ready to go!

by the time we reached our hotel, it was already nearly 3pm in the afternoon. true enough the rooms in federal hotel were really puny. think it must be the smallest hotel room in which i've ever stayed in. lols. but oh well, the hotel isn't impt! we were so hungry when we arrived. almost immediately we went to the nearby shopping centres (bb plaza, lot10 etc) in search of food. and i saw...... the place where i had amazing roast goose noodles the last time i came kl!! yikes, was so excited! but guess wad! their roast goose was sold out! sighs, i had to settle for roast duck instead. but was determined to come back the next day for it. (and i did! *hees*) and so after that we continued shopping for the next few hours. tried the strawberry coated in maltose that cindy mentioned to me. was yummylicious! think i practically ate the whole stick. hees. and while shopping we saw.....

it reminded me of the time when i went on my hall's gunung datuk, where we stayed over in malacca after the climb. and i shared this amazing pizza with junzhao and mingrong. it's a pity that we dun have it in singapore any more. and so we just had to go in! though we werent very hungry yet. the pizza was so cheezy! yummsss.

after combing thru all the shopping centres, we went for a foot reflexology. it wasn't really that good ( the one we had on the 2nd day was so much better) and we went to the ship for an extremely late dinner cum supper. i rem it used to have branches in sg and eating there when i was younger. in their menu, there was this portion, whereby the dishes were named after flintstones characters! i had the barnie meal. so cute! it was served on hot stone and had 3 sauces that i could mix with. there as mint sauce, chilli and some unknown sauce which tasted really good. i really felt like a caveman, eating lamb, ham, chicken and beef all at 1 go! it came with a potato salad which was good as well. dearie had this sizziling steak - which explains the bib. hahas.

and here were our finds for the day!
Day 2

we woke up early in the morning at around 7 and headed off to klcc to buy tix to have a view at the twin towers... only to discover that.......... IT WASN'T OPENED ON MONDAY!! my goodness... and we woke up sooo early. and there we were - stranded in a shopping centre early in the morning with no shops opened! in the end we went to a cafe to have coffee. think it was san francisco coffee which can be found in many places in kl. the hazelnut coffee was good! i end up reading the wall street journal there and found an interesting article on memoirs of a geisha. hehs.
we watched a movie there as well - kingkong!! was shocked to discover that the movie was 3 hrs long! and seriously, i have no idea why was the movie queue so longggggg on a monday! it was like twice as bad as what plaza sg looks like on a weekend. faints. i tot that the movie was pretty good, though i have heard negative reviews about it. oh maybe it's becos the damage of watching it was only 4 bucks? hahas.

just before the movie, we went to the highly recommended mdm kwan for nasi lemak! i think it was the best thing that i ate in kl. the coconut rice was just right! and the chicken was curry! yums. i'll defintely eat it again the next time i'm in kl.
after lunch, we went to midvalley mega mall! it's defintely a must-go because i rem from the last time that it was humongous! hiaks. had some kind of a dinner at kim gary. it's a hk cafe kind of place where u can get yumyumyum toast! (the one i was talking about earlier) the spicy beef noodles i had was great too! dearie's pork rib rice wasn't that fantastic though. it had bits of corn in them. not exactly compatible. hahas. i think the restaurant Central in taka has a similar menu. except that the food is obviously better at kim gary! i've seriously condemned the food at central. but oh well maybe i should try the toast.
though advised by bisheng not to go chinatown, we went anyway. haha for the sake of going. and i kind of regretted not heeding his advice. seriously, there was nothing to buy there. there were loads of poor imitation goods and loads of people. it was so boring. and off we went to another foot reflexology! there were so many of those shops near our hotel. this time we went to a right one! it was so painful. i like! and it had the bubble foot massager. think it's the one that watsons sells. felt greattt! afterwhich, we went to jalan alor for supper! had yummy satay there. there were so many other stalls! but we were simply too full to eat anymore. :( what a pity!!
Day 3
did some last min shopping at the usual stretch of shopping centres near our hotel. what was funny was that both of us forgot what was the check out time! we happily returned to the hotel at around 2pm to realise that the checkout time was 12noon! and that we had to pay half a day's surcharge if we were to checkout after 1pm! luckily the receptionist was kind enough to pardon our ignorance. but it's a good thing we din noe that it was 12pm.. i dun think i want to rush back by den from my shopping and eating! tried the waffles at lot 10 and it was damn good. had the choc marshmellow one. the other flavours looks really interesting too!!
our coach was really late. but thank gawd it was still a comfy spacious bus and not the horrible mini bus that bisheng warned me about. :) so at the end of the day, i just wanna say thanks dearie for sharing this holiday with me! it would have never been the same without u!
