Food Reviews Part 2!

Haha I actually created all the collages today before the interview. Damn slack. Din really feel like I'm going for one at all. But anyway! Here's Part2!! :)

Tung Lok Tim Sum @ Arena Country Club

Heh ate here a few times le, still one of the best timsum buffets I've tried! But it's like super far! At Boon Lay area, just opposite OCS. Think the photos were like taken super long ago. Do both of us look much younger? Haha. And I love the steamed spareribs! Yummy. The service is quite good too. Not like some tim sum buffets, namely the one at harbourfront (!!!) that start serving you slower and slower if you order more. Hiaks. Price is also affordable - $16.80 per pax.

Xu Liu Shan @ Orchard (Beside Shaw)

Yummy mango desserts here! Haha I love mango so my review on this should be quite biased. Haha. But the desserts are quite ex, to me at least. For such desserts. Ard $6 - 8. But it's in Orchard ma. And surprisingly, I actually like the coconut drink! Think it's a good place to sit down and chat after a long shopping trip. Hiakhiaks.

Chong Pang Nasi Lemak @ Yishun

My favourite nasi lemak after Boon Lay's! But dun think I'll get to eat BL's often le. So must find nearer alternatives! Heehee. I think as long as the chilli's good, and the rice is good, the nasi lemak shld be good! Introduced to this place by my hall frens. Actually this is not the one that's famed - the typical chong pang nasi lemak. Can't rem the name of this stall actually. But it's in the Yishun area. Can't rem the street also! Haha. Cmi. But I can recognise it when I see it!

Ding Tai Fung @ Wisma

Xiaolongbaos! But rem to eat the crab meat ones!! They're sooooo good!! Don't eat the normal pork ones. The meat's too rough. I still prefer the Crystal Jade ones! And of cos dearie's suan la soup. Yikes. Taste of mushroom. Eeeeeks. The noodles and soup are good too (can't rem the name le) but nothing spectacular.

Central @ Taka

In contrary to my first visit here, the food was actually quite good! Must have ordered all the wrong stuff last time. Do not order the Trishaw noodle and the thousandlayer beancurd!! But the cheese baked rice was niceee! So cheesy as you can see from the pic. Was wondering what's this dish that everyone was ordering when I first saw it in the timsum "long". Good thing I ordered that! Yums. The toast is as disappointing as it looks. No butter de :(. The Nissin fried noodles was very tasty! Feels funny to order instant noodles ar. But it was really yummy!

Bird Nest Delight @ Suntec

I think this is the name of the shop?? Cant rem lehs. But it's just beside Country Manna. Please dun order the fish beehoon soup. It's really all wei jing. Super thirsty after the meal!! Yikes. And the prawn wonton was super ex! 3 for $4!! Din noe there was only 3. Very cheated. But it was very prawny. Quite nice. Haha. But still not worth $4!!

Mellben Seafood @ AMK Blk 232

The crabs were not as good as I expected, considering the super long queue. And all the good reviews I've heard about it. We ordered the large crabs but it was so normal-sized. Def expected better. The mongolian ribs were good though. Actually I tried the so called imitation one in the next block. And I rem it to be much better! So much bigger and yummier! Too bad I dun have a pic of it. Must search for better crab places le!

Kolo Mee @ Chinatown

Yay tried the Kuching Kolo Mee that Cindy introed! Super nice!! Has minced meat, wonton, charsiew and either prawn/abalone with the noodles. The noodles tasted really good! The kou gan and all. And for once, I really dunnoe how to describe the sauce of the noodles! Was very unique. Some fragrant oil thingy? Hmm not sure. It costs $5.90 and the decor of the place is abit like DianXiaoEr. Haha the costume ba. Would def come back again! There's another store selling kolo mee further down the street. Not sure which is the zheng zhong one. But this had more ppl ba. So shld be this! Heehee. They have a branch at the Chinatown roadside stalls place too.

Talking about Chinatown, it's really quite happening ar! They had this stage performance when i went there on Sat. Think it happens every last Sat of the month. It's on Shi Xiong Di. Reminds me of the small Chinese storybooks we order in 10s when we were in primary school!! Haha. Felt so touristy walking down the streets of Chinatown on a weekend. And makes me feel like eating alot everytime I pass by the hawker stalls!! Haha. Greedy me! But still! I must have my fill of all the local food in SG before i start munching on bread and pasta in Europe! Sidetrack abit, but we cal our budget, and realised we have quite abit each day for meals! So perhaps it wun be so much bread! Haha. Or did I miscal something?? Hmmm...
