Heh thanks to dearie, some of the photos that we took are up on imagestation. Updated the links on the other entries of the other cities le. Heh what happened in Paris seems so far away now! Hmms. Paris was a lot bigger than the rest of the cities we visited, well excluding Rome and London. So I guess we got a bit overwhelmed (is that the word?) when we got there. Din expect our hostel to be so far away! The city of romance.. hmm I din think that Paris was really very romantic, except for the Effiel tower.. Dun understand how city life can be romantic.. Wah this is sounding very negative though I think Paris was really pretty. Her sights and all. More on that later!
The metro's like super convenient in Paris. It's everywhere!! Haha. It's super kua zhang because the distance between each stop is probably like Bishan-Braddell stop in SG. Or even lesser. Hmm kind of inefficient right. Just like a few seconds, and you reach the next stop. But at this point in the trip, we totally just heck and just take the train le. Lazyyy us! :P
Finally found H&M in Europe here too!! Heh had fun shopping thru all the mess in the 3 floors. Why dun they come to SG!?!? Sighs!! They have practically everything!! Yikes.
Sights
There was just so much to see in Paris! Mostly along the river Seine. We visited the Cathedrale de Notre Dame. Had so much fun listening to the stories that the free tour guide was telling. We also visited the Louvre, saw the Mona Lisa, hmm but the corridors in the Lourve wasnt very spectacular lehs. We also saw the Arc de Triomphe, walked down Champs-Elysees, the modern looking Centre Pompidou, wooo and ahhed at the golden doors of the Grand and Petit Palais etcetcetc. We also went up the Effiel and caught an amazing view of the city. Was really romantic up there. :) But the queue was incredibly long. And the lift up was just so packed. One day I'll book the entire Effiel to myself. Wahhaa. Yeah right. Oh yesh, and we also visited the Pantheon!! Dedicated to Saint Genevieve who helped to unify Paris. Serious I'm not kidding!!

So cool to be named after some saint! Hiaks. In the Pantheon, was this huge pendulum bob. It's amazing to know that this actually helped prove that the earth rotates. Because by right, a pendulum bob would move only left-right ma, say west-east. But over time, the motion would start to change. Okie, I think I'm doing a very bad explanation. You can ask me in person next time. Lols.

We also had fun walking through Montmartre and Pigalle! The red light district of Paris. Loads of sex shops. We also took pictures outside Moulin Rogue! Yikes. I so wanna catch a show here someday! :)

We went window shopping at this huge shopping centre! 3 big buildings! Yes a shopping centre finally! Instead of just shops by the road. The Gallaries Lafayette! It's like super posh and everything's branded. The good thing is you get to try on all the Gucci shoes you want and no one would bother you. Haha. So fun. And there are super cushy seats with free water for everyone. Hehee.
Our hostel
We stayed at Hotel Bellevue and we were superbly disappointed!! It was supposed to serve some kind of breakfast with crossiants, hot chocolate and all but we actually had to pay for it. Although it's supposed to be included in our hostel fee. And it wasnt as near as to the train station as it claimed and not to mention it was like super near Little India. The person in charge was also aloof at times and suddenly friendly at other times. There was no aircon too. The only plus point is probably that the hotel had a lift! Phew. We were staying on the 6th floor!
Food
Here's one of the first few things we ate once we reached Paris! A quiche, but sadly it was spinach or sth inside, not meat. We had to converse in Italian to get it somemore. Cos we forgot to learn a few lines of French and the person couldnt understand English. Quite funny. We also went to another place for lunch immediately after that. The person told us that we were ordering beef...but in the end..........

It turned out to be what seemed like the insides of beef! Yikes! Super gross!! Really felt like puking!! From then on, we decided that we should really go check out menus with English words to double check the French translation of words like chicken, mushroom etc. Thank gawd the calamari was good and the bread they provided was so much better than Italian's. Yumyum and crisp! And we were so glad we found Flunch!! A really cheap place to have a good and full meal! We couldnt help but go back again the next day.

It was only 6eur for either a steak/chicken/fish with as much sides (mainly potatoy stuff, pasta, veg...) as you can take, plus a drink! There's even wine which I tried. Was a bit strong. I know the plate above looks gross, but it's super yummy! Hehee.

Ohoh and how can I forget the macrons!! Havent tasted anything like before. When I went into the shop, I just felt like buying everything. Ryan chose this chocolate ball thingy which was so good!! So huge can! Like 10times the size of a roche. Haha.
Kk will update if I can remember more.... :)
